A new website has been launched providing a collection of web-based tools and information about land-based emissions reduction, carbon sequestration and the Carbon Farming Initiative (CFI).

This suite of online resources has been developed through a partnership between the University of Melbourne and the Carbon Market Institute on behalf of the federal Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry as part of the Carbon Farming Futures Extension and Outreach program.

The aim is to help extension providers build skills and knowledge to support farmers to manage emissions and participate in the CFI. The site includes a Carbon Farming Resources Pack and Carbon Farming Extension Toolkit, each containing technical information, tools and electronic resources about agricultural emissions and carbon farming. e-Learning Courses are also available covering a range of subjects including the carbon pricing mechanism and carbon markets, science of agricultural emissions, and current abatement options.

The  information in the portal is tailored to extension providers but is publicly available and accessible to anyone interested in carbon farming.
